Mares Foundation is the result of a long time dream of Cutberto Hernandez, founder of Mares Mortgage, and recently joined by fellow alumni, who received their B.S. in Oceanology at the U.A.B.C. School of Marine Sciences.
Mares Foundation's main purpose is Charitable Educational Support & Training for Underprivileged Youth to assure that they become Adult leaders that promote a safe and clean world.
Mares Mortgage became one of the benefactors of Museo Katsuo on the grounds of Cutberto's Alma Mater in Ensenada, Baja California Mexico and the Museum opened its doors in March 2016.
Mares Foundation currently shares a common goal with Museo Katsuo: "Reverse the effects of pollution in Our Ocean by Educating Our Youth"
This vision is becoming a reality, thanks to our financial support, donations from people in our community and a group of volunteers over 6,000 kids have received the basic education in Ocean Literacy.
The Mares Foundation is supporting ocean literacy in Mexico and Latin America by producing educational videos and materials in Spanish.
